COMMUNITY RECESS VAN!
The Amherst Hurricanes Athletic Boosters and Amherst Recreation are teaming up to provide a "Recess Van," during the lunch/recess break between the times of 11:30-12:15 from 1/11/2021-1/29/21. The 30 minute activities will be held from approximately 11:40 -12:10. Mondays- Amherst Regional Middle School, Tuesdays- Mill River Recreation Area, Wednesdays- Butternut Farms,Thursdays- The Boulders Apartments Fridays- Groff Park. It is voluntary, free and doesn't require any registration, other than the children's names, grade and school, if not homeschooled the day of the "recess." It's geared towards students K-6, who are homeschooled, or not otherwise expected to be in class at that time. There is not any transportation provided. This is a structured, outdoor play activity led by staff and volunteers for the purpose of in-person, social engagement and fun. It is expected that children will only attend if they are in good health, not under quarantine due to Covid health guidelines, and will wear a mask at all times.
