Happy Holidays!

💗 Dear ARMS community,

We sincerely hope you are doing well and that your Thanksgiving went well and happy too, all things considered!

Here are some updates from your PGO.

Firstly, the 5k event is still open to sign up but it is postponed until next year. We have received many congratulations for this great idea! Please contact coordinator kim.nedeau@yahoo.com for any questions or concerns.

Secondly, three full PGO Best Baskets were donated for Thanksgiving. The raffle winner, an 8th grade parent, donated hers to a home for the elderly. A great loving gesture! They surely enjoyed delicious homemade cookies, specialty chocolates, tea and candy. And a special message! The other two baskets went to a community center and church to cheer them up at this challenging time.

And the Holiday Basket raffle is on, Dec 21! Who will win home & gifts, chocolates, cookies & candy? We just want to cheer you up! Again, donate and contact us to leave your info.

Last but not least, the PGO continues with the coat drive and we also helped teachers with the science kits. As always, we are happily and actively involved helping our teachers. They certainly do a great job in this part of the world where many uncertainties arise due to the pandemic situation. Please help the Environmental Club with plastic bottles for a project. And stop plastic pollution!

If possible, please show you care for your school community by donating to our ongoing fundraising efforts.https://www.mightycause.com/story/Amherst-Regional-Middle-School-Parent-Guardian-Organization Check our blog http://armspgo.blogspot.com/

We need you to keep doing good programs for the school! Every fundraiser benefits the students and teachers! And contact us at armspgo@gmail.com with ideas for your 8th graders move-on events and activities! We have suggestions to share with you; and your volunteer help is so much appreciated!

We look forward to hearing from you! Thank you!

Tis' this time of year again....

The wonderful season of thanks, joys and blessings for all! Oh what fun! a favorite time! May you have a healthy, wonderful and blessed holiday season!

Keep it up, all safe and sound!

Call for Submissions: Dreaming the Future!

The Forbes, Jones, and Lilly libraries are collaborating with UMass's Feinberg Lecture Series, and we are asking the young people of Western Massachusetts (ages 5-18) to help envision a future where climate change is mitigated and the world has adapted. The project, Dreaming the Future, asks young people to consider their relationship with the natural world, how they think it might change in the future, what they hope it might be like, and how to help guide humanity toward a more climate-just world. Participants are invited to respond to a variety of prompts and share their work with us; we will then publish the collection as a zine (a limited-edition publication). Participants will receive a physical copy of the booklet and it will also be available online. We are asking for submissions now through January 1st. To view the prompts and find information on how to submit, please visit: https://blogs.umass.edu/feinberg/dreaming-the-future/
