Amherst Poetry Marathon this Saturday

A one-day reading of all 1,789 of Emily Dickinson's poems, and a celebration of another of Amherst's great poets, James Tate. The inaugural Emily Dickinson Poetry Slam. An open mic, dozens of poets, two days of workshops, Doughnuts and Death, and, just for good measure, a Poemkémon scavenger hunt.

The Emily Dickinson Poetry Marathon and the fourth annual Amherst Poetry Festival return September 15-17. Produced by the Emily Dickinson Museum, Amherst Business Improvement District, Jones Library, and The Common, the festival is a celebration of the poetic legacy of Emily Dickinson, the exceptional poetry community of western Massachusetts, and poets from around the world who will gather to share their work in the very place where Dickinson penned her immortal words. Click here to see the full festival schedule.

The theme of this year's festival is "place," and it's one participants have interpreted in as many ways as a poet's imagination can run.

Welcome!

Welcome to the ARMS PGO Blog!

Each Friday we will share important school information to keep you informed about the goings on at Amherst Regional Middle School! If you do not want to receive the blog, please email us at: armspgo@gmail.com in order to opt out of the blog.

We look forward to another productive year at the Middle School, and we hope you will become an active member of the PGO. Stay tuned for more information about upcoming meetings and events.

You can also donate to the PGO to help support our mini-grant program, supply MCAS snacks for students, or contribute to the ARMS Educator Award.

Lastly, we hope that you will take a few minutes to register with Stop & Shop, which will donate a portion of your purchase to the Principal’s Discretionary Fund (which is then used to fund mini-grants to teachers and staff.) You can do that by clicking on the link below:
