ARMS FSP Frisbee Golf Tournament Tonight!


Join us for a Disc Golf & Ultimate Frisbee Tournament on the ARMS fields tonight, Friday, May 3, 2013 from 5 until 7:30 PM!

Evening begins with a Disc Golf Clinic at 5:00 sponsored by our friends from Pure Flight Disc Golf & Ultimate in Amherst. 

The first flight of golfers will tee off at 5:20.  We'll break for a potluck dinner and barbecue at 6:00 with the second flight starting back out on the course at 6:50 PM.  We'll play with a scramble format so there’ll be plenty of fun for everyone!


Compete for prizes in the Putting Contest and Longest Drive competitions.  Challenge your creativity by entering the contests for Most Outrageous Hat, Craziest Hair, Most Unconventional Technique & Most Colorful Outfit.


Sign up on the Draw Sheet outside the Middle School Office or just come on out Friday night!  Entry fee is $5.00 per player and all proceeds benefit the ARMS Family School Partnership.  Players will be in teams of 5 so if you want to be grouped together with friends, just make that note on the Draw Sheet.


Ultimate Teams that want to compete can do so for a $15.00 entry.


Parents who want to help out can sign up in the Middle School Office or be in touch with Eileen Marasco at e.marasco@comcast.net or call her at 256-3880.  We'll need some help keeping folks moving safely on the course, with food set up and sales, and clean up.

Calvin Terrell


The Amherst-Pelham Regional Public Schools are proud to announce that Calvin Terrell, warrior for peace and racial justice, will visit Amherst on May 7, 2013. His visit is part of the Office of the Superintendent's initiative to bring the national conversation on public education to the greater Amherst community.

Mr. Terrell will present to the community on the evening of May 7.  The public is invited to attend this FREE event which will begin at 7pm in the auditorium at Amherst Regional High School (21 Mattoon Street).

Boy Scout Open House


Boy Scout Troop 500 Amherst is having an Open House for prospective scouts and their families Tuesday, May 14 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at the South Congregational Church, 1066 Southeast Street, Amherst.  Troop 500 has a 50+ year history in Amherst working with school-age boys (grades 6-12).  Troop activities are organized and run by the boys, including weekly meetings, monthly campouts, and projects in the community.  Our Scouts learn practical outdoor skills and develop leadership skills while having a lot of fun.  Troop 500 does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, or sexual preference.  For more information, contact Scoutmaster Peter Crowley at (413) 348-8052.

Annual Rotary Town Fair Dates Announced

The annual Town Fair sponsored by the Rotary Club of Amherst is set for Thursday May 23, Friday, May 24 and Saturday, May 25. The rides start on Thursday at  3pm  and run to about 10 pm, Friday 3pm to 10pm  and Saturday 10am to 10pm.

Starlight's Youth Theater presents The Little Mermaid!


Starlight's Youth Theatre presents Disney's The Little Mermaid, Jr., the musical. Show are on May 17that 7:00 pm, May 18th at 2:00 & 7:00 pm, May 19th at 2:00 pm at the Academy of Music, Northampton.
