On February 28th at 7:00 PM, the community is invited to attend a FREE screening of HBO’s award-wining documentary, The Weight of the Nation. Three years in the making, this film examines the facts and myths of nutrition, obesity and fitness in American society. It describes how the strong forces at work in our society are causing children to consume too many calories and expend too little energy; tackling subjects from school lunches to the decline of physical education, the demise of school recess and the marketing of unhealthy food to children. The screening will encompass Part 1 Consequences and Part 3 Children in Crisis.
