Mentoring Program for First Generation in Family to Attend College

The ARPS Family Center is offering “College Power” a free pilot mentoring program for income-eligible students who want to be the first generation in their family to attend college. Trained mentors help students expand their vision of the world and its opportunities, develop their own story, connect school performance
to success in life, and negotiate the complex procedure of applying to college. Parent or guardian support is an important part of this process. The program is currently open to students in grades 7-11 and requires completing a simple application. The application is available at the main/guidance offices of the Amherst Regional Middle and High School. The application is due Thursday, April 17, 2014 to the main or guidance office at each school.

If you have any questions please contact Mildred Martinez at 413 362-1871 or email martinezm2@arps.org.
