There is a
very important question on the November ballot for Amherst Residents.
Ballot Question #5 will ask for a "yes" or "no" vote to
decide on whether to consolidate the 3 elementary schools to 2 - one PK-1 at
Crocker Farm and a new building at the Wildwood site to house grades 2-6 in two
separate wings. It will affect all children attending
the Amherst public elementary schools. That is, ALL kindergarten and 1st
graders would attend Crocker Farm and then they would ALL transition to the
school at the Wildwood site.
The school project
will require a Proposition 2 1/2 debt exclusion question on the November 8,
2016 State Election ballot for Amherst Voters.
The Amherst League
of Women Voters is organizing a forum, scheduled for Wednesday, September 28, 7-9 p.m. in the Amherst Regional Middle
School Auditorium, will give the community an opportunity to hear different
views. Representatives from The Save Amherst Small Schools, the Bold Amherst
Schools, the Building Committee from ARPS and the Amherst Finance Committee
will speak.
