This October the Amherst Boys and Girls Club is offering exciting new programs. Education Director of Amherst B & G Club, Karina Swenson
has provided this flyer highlighting the Club's new programs. In
addition to the programs, the Club located downtown, is open daily after
school. We have a large cross section of the local youth gathered at
the Club playing pool, doing art, cooking, eating, listening to music,
doing homework, or just "hanging out." The Mission of the Amherst Boys
& Girls Club is to enable all young people, especially those who
need support most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring,
and responsible citizens. Please email Karina Swenson at karina@beyondgreen.biz with any questions or feel free to call the Club at 413-253-1444.
Here is a list of our new programs:
Cooking
•Members will learn to plan, shop, and budget while creating simple meals
they can later share with their families.
Y.E.L.L. (Youth Engaged in Learning and Leadership)
•An amazing hands-on course where youth will explore the qualities and
skills to become a leader.
Sip and Paint
•A relaxing workshop with a local artist who will lead members through a
painting. Members will leave with their own work of art.
To participate in any of these programs you must become a member of the
Amherst Boys and Girls Club. There is a $50.00 annual membership fee.
Scholarships and financial aid are available.
We are the Parent/ Guardian Organization for the Amherst Regional Middle School. We strive to create a supportive and welcoming community for students, their families, teachers and administration by hosting events, organizing programs that foster a productive and positive environment; be a resource for information and engagement; and funding academic and ARMS community initiatives.
