Soup for Syria Night Success

Our Soup for Syria night was a huge success! Over 80 people joined us for a delicious soup dinner to raise awareness about the plight of many displaced people, especially Syrians living in refuge. Many ARMS parents/guardians, families, teachers, staff members and other community members collaborated to collect $637 in donations to contribute to SAMS, the Syrian American Medical Society. The event was successful due to dozens of soup cooks, donations of carrots, celery and bread, and the tenacious work of PGO members Josie DeAngelis and Amy Sweeting. We are grateful to everybody who helped us out! We were fortunate to have guest of honor, Barbara Abdeni Massaad talk about how she started the Soup for Syria book with publisher, Michel Moushabeck.  Many copies of the Soup for Syria book were purchased and those book profits also go towards supporting the refugees. You can see a video about the work of SAMS, the Syrian American Medical Society here: https://www.sams-usa.net/foundation/index.php/news-media/multimedia-and-videos
