We are off to a great start to the 2013-2014 school year!
Thanks to all of the staff and families for preparing students for
another year of learning. There are lots of exciting events going on in the middle school this month as staff and students are getting to know each other and prepare for another fabulous year at ARMS.
With the start of school, there is always a great deal of information that we are trying to get to you. We hope that you have been able to attend our Team Breakfasts and will be coming to Open House on Thursday, September 26th. Here are some items that we are trying to make sure all families know about as we start school:
Online Grading - Logins and passwords were given to families at the Team Breakfasts so that they can check their child's grades online. If you have not gotten your login and password, you can come to the office with a picture ID to receive it.
Forms - Please make sure you have returned all beginning of the year forms to your child's advisor. If you are not sure if you have, please check in with your child's advisor.
Parent Guardian Organization Fundraiser – The Parent Guardian Organization/Family School Partnership raises money to support the school community. Grants are offered to teachers and teams for projects and special events including visiting
authors and performances. In addition, the PGO/FSP has supported clubs and has provided special evening events for students and their families. We depend on the money the PGO/FSP raises to provide these enriching opportunities.
Checks can be made out to ARMS and returned or mailed to the school. Please put "ARMS PGO/FSP" on the envelope.
Anything you can do to help is appreciated.
Cell phones - We do not allow cell phones to be on during the day. If you need to contact your child, please do so through the main office.
Newsletters - Our school newsletters go out monthly. We are aiming to send them out around the 15th of each month. In each newsletter, you will find short updates from team and departments. Additionally, there will be other pieces of information from staff members. Also, we will occasionally include information regarding community events.
Student/Family Handbooks went out the first day of school. The first half of the handbook is specific to the Middle School and the second half is the district section. The handbook has lots of information about the school. We hope you will find it to be a useful tool.
FSP Coffee with the Principal: Our first Coffee will be held on Friday, October 4. Parents are invited to join Class Meeting at 7:45. The Coffee will begin at 8:05 until 9:00 in the MS Conference Room. This is an opportunity to hear about the middle school and share questions and ideas.
